The online experience was great! Michelle was very knowledgeable in the field and used very practical examples to teach. Her practical manner made us feel engaged in the training, whereby everyone also willingly shared their own personal / organization experiences, aiding the discussions and providing insight into the challenges encountered in managerial roles. Kudos are also to be given regarding her personal excellence whereby the current isolation period did not hold us back in any way, but instead, she made the sessions seamless although this was her first time using online teaching methods (Zoom) to facilitate the training. Thanks are to be given to Michelle and the rest of the Lok Jack GSB team involved in this training.

I graduated from the IMBA programme of the UWI-ALJGSB in 2019 which was delivered mostly online. UWI-ALJGSB prepared me not only to achieve a Master’s Degree but provided me with the skills to navigate in the virtual world. I am especially grateful as I now use online platforms in executing my daily duties. The online classes were convenient and enabled me to be a part of the sessions interfacing with lecturers and my classmates. This was something I may not have been able to do otherwise due to my previous work schedule. The added benefit was that my location did not prevent me from joining in. Once I had a decent internet connection, I was ready for the evening! It took great skill to manage those sessions but the Lecturers were trained well enough to make it and keep it interesting for us.

I’m a student of the International Master of Business Administration. My classes are delivered online as well as face to face. ALJGSB’s online learning has allowed me to fully appreciate education delivered online given COVID-19. The lecturers are well trained and equipped to deliver their sessions. Learning through online is not just lectures since our facilitators utilize different learning strategies from simulations to gamification that allow for interactive sessions despite it being a virtual classroom. Additionally, the dedicated IT support team allows for an uninterrupted flow. Kudos to ALJGSB for being ahead of the game.

My name is Enid Thom-Alleyne, I am currently a part of cohort 65 on the IMBA programme. My programme is delivered using a combination of face to face and online platforms. I’ve found this strategy very effective given that I am a mom and have a full-time job, as such balancing my time is always a challenge. One of the key selling points of the programme is that the lecturers come with a wealth of experience in their field and deliver the content in a practical way. I am able to implement the models and strategies in my job and life.

My name is Sueyin HooFatt and I am currently pursuing the Bachelor of International & Sustainable Business Program. During the past four weeks, having to utilize the Lok Jack GSB’s online platforms was not challenging for me. This has allowed me to choose my preferred learning environment that works best for me. I also no longer have to spend excessive time and money travelling back and forth from school and home, instead, I now use some of these hours to study areas that are challenging for me. In addition, I have become more self-disciplined. As a result of having to study online, I am forced to become more self-motivated, since I no longer have someone physically in front of me to ensure that I am staying focused during the lectures. I have also become more skilful in time management. In terms of my level of interaction with lecturers, I would not say it is the best, however, it is not bad. It’s just that when you are physically interacting with a student or a lecturer, the feedback tends to be more informative and readily available.

To put it bluntly, the online learning experience, born from necessity, has been an easily accessible way to stay on top of my education throughout a time where there is no inhouse option due to unforeseen circumstances. Quickly implemented, smoothly operated and dynamically adapted to the needs of the pupils - I would say my favourite part of the experience has been how continuous it has been, bridging the offline and online gap. Due to the administrative efforts of program advisors and the IT staff, I am able to work in a virtual class that is almost exactly the same as a physical one, kilometres away from the campus. The professors have not missed a step when issuing classwork and interacting with their students, making it extremely easy to carry on with any given subject.

This was my first time attending an online workshop and I was very impressed. Although this was not a traditional classroom environment, the facilitator/lecturer was able to keep everyone engaged and made the session very interactive. With regards to the content of the workshop, it was very relevant and would definitely add value when it comes time to develop a training plan for my organisation.

Intriguing topic. Great use of technology given the circumstances as I have never done an online course. I would see myself doing online courses in the future.

The online classes were well received. This was the first online class I did with Lok Jack GSB and the course material was clearly delivered.

I attended the online course in HR Labour Law with Mr Lesmore Frederick and I came away very impressed and fulfilled. The online format did not diminish the quality and delivery in any way and Mr Frederick remained very engaging throughout the programme. His passion, knowledge and experience were evident and very reassuring. The programme touched on many relevant topics with current events and local cases serving as excellent examples. It went in-depth despite being just three days. I am glad I made the decision to do this programme and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in improving their knowledge in the field.

The HR Labour Law online workshop has enhanced my confidence as an HR practitioner. During the course of the programme, I was able to have lively and interactive discussions about real workplace scenarios with a knowledgeable facilitator who applied sound reasoning and logic. By the end of the workshop, I felt that the HR Labour Law workshop would be a key foundation for anyone involved in employee relations and I would definitely recommend this programme.

The Developing Organisational Training Plans programme has provided me with greater insight and tools to effectively plan and organize training from the identification of needs to the delivery and evaluation of training. I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the Online Training session via Zoom technology which allowed me to pursue the programme from the comfort of my home. The facilitator Mr Mirza-Ali Mohammed never disappoints! His knowledge, style and delivery always keep me engaged.
