SRATEGIC PLANNING – THE BSI WAY

According to the Balanced Scorecard Institute (BSI), Strategic Planning is an organisational management activity that is used to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that employees and other stakeholders are working toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, assess and adjust the organisation’s direction in response to a changing environment. Effective strategic planning articulates not only where an organisation is going and the actions needed to make progress, but also how it will know if it is successful.

WHAT IS THE BALANCED SCORECARD?

Simply put, the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a strategic planning and management system that enables organisations to:

  • Measure and monitor progress towards strategic targets
  • Align the day-to-day work that everyone is doing with strategy
  • Prioritize projects, products, and services
  • Communicate strategic objectives to the entire organisation

WHAT WILL THE PROGRAMME COVER?

The BSC Associate Certificate Programme will show a step-by-step methodology to build and implement a BSC strategic management system. It will include a hands-on workshop to allow participants to get practical experience in developing a best practices BSC system.

Participants will have an opportunity to address specific issues in their respective organisation and will examine how to build upon their current planning and performance management systems.
