Conducting research to generate knowledge, and using knowledge to advance disciplinary understanding and impact societies is a responsibility UWI-ALJGSB. We increase regional and international reach and scale of impact. Our location in a developing region of the world, creates a challenging research responsibility for the UWI-ALJGSB. We produce the-oretically robust, and practically relevant research that addresses challenges faced by businesses, the public sector, policy-makers, and other practitioners, to contribute to national and regional development.

Centre for Corporate Governance and Business Sustainability

Dr. Ron Sookram
The Centre for Corporate Governance and Business Sustainability generates both academic and practitioner oriented research publications that provides valuable insights into strengthening govern-ance practices in organisations as well as developing sustainable enterprises which facilitate the sus-tainability agenda.

Centre for Leadership

Dr. Kamla Mungal
The Centre for Leadership provides leadership education and leadership development programmes to students and clients so that they can attain greater success through leadership in their personal and professional lives. Leadership competences are expressed in measures of sustained success and one’s leadership is reflected in a followership with shared principles.

Centre for Strategy and Competitiveness

Dr. Richard Ramsawak
The Centre for Strategy and Competitiveness comprises of members with multi-disciplinary back-grounds in the field of Economics, Business Management, Sociology, Survey Design and Implemen-tation. Primarily, these services are aimed at equipping regional governmental bodies and private sector firms with the required tools to become more globally competitive.

Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Dr. Jan Sookram
Through its teaching, training and research activities the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innova-tion has been making a meaningful contribution to the economic and societal development of the Caribbean in general and Trinidad and Tobago, in particular. The Centre engages in organisational knowledge creation and dissemination of such knowledge into products, services and systems. In essence, the Centre seeks to bridge entrepreneurial behaviour and the process of innovation in an applied way. The work of the Centre is therefore focused on specific, applied research, practical skills and knowledge development, which have the potential to lead to context specific solutions aimed at promoting product, process and managerial innovation.

The Centre for Business Intelligence and Data Analytics

Dr. Gour Saha
The Centre for Business Intelligence and Data Analytics was established to create knowledge on ‘Big Data’ for competitiveness and train people to succeed in today’s highly analytical and data-driven economy. This Centre leads the school-wide project of Data Governance. The Data Govern-ance Committee (DGC) has been established to drive the School towards evidence-based decision-making. Over time, the Information System will advance to allow for greater transparency, increased objectivity and robustness, which will mitigate data manipulation and promote more accurate busi-ness decisions.

Making changes in our business community and the region, UWI-ALJGSB has made the next step in its history towards changing the higher education landscape

The time has come for the institution to evolve in dramatic ways in order to meet its growing responsibilities and to fulfill its potential. And so we have expanded the Mt. Hope Campus, our beautiful home since 2006. This landmark building project created space for collaboration and through research centres that effectively reimagines the way we educate in the future.
